Arc of the Parks Bike Tour?

[bump from May] What about a “Arc of Parks Tour” big day for SE Michigan? There’s a string of parks that runs 70 miles from Chelsea to Holly. I haven’t been to even half of them, but I’d like to visit them all. Why not do it in a day? (Or an overnighter.)

UPDATE: Maybe this would be a great autumn tour idea?

It looks like these parks could quite readily be connected: Waterloo, Pinckney, Brighton, Island, Kensington, Highland, Proud, Pontiac, Bald, Holly, Ortonville.

Actually, it’s 75 miles as the crow flies. Hmmm. That’ll be 100 in the real world. Who can ride that far? Whew! Seems kinda far. I suppose we have a daylight nowadays. I’d be hoping there’d be a lot of DIRT on this route, that these would be natural-beauty parks.

It’d be a BIG DAY.

Anyone up for that?

I notice that Milford is surrounded by parks. Dang. Luckee. I did a crit decades ago there. I didn’t actually notice the place. I wonder what kind of a town it is. Quaint, preserved, with a community vibe? Or a sprawlesque concentration of franchises? It could be anything. I’d hope for the former.

(Aside: That’s one of the BAD THINGS about racing: you often don’t really notice or remember where you were. At least not me, or not for long. It seems to me that Outing Club outings, where you go to actually explore and picnic and such, would leave more of an impact.)
