Yesterday was Henry’s birthday (13) so we pulled him outta school and he got to play hooky. We all went and visited Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Farmington Hills. What a riot! This guy has a shop in the back of a minimall complex. It’s full of amusement arcade games, displays and machines from the past 100 years. The ceilings are tall and full to the brim.
My favorite thing was the huge robotic music band that could play hundreds of songs for 50 cents a pop. I kept it well-fed. Dozens of instruments automatically had their strings plucked and drums banged, player-piano style — there was one of those, too. …Marvelous!
