Clift shows what being a man is all about. Burt backs him up. Finally, the perfect look at why Officers suck and why the Enlisted Man knows he’s why the world keeps on turning. “They do what they do and I do what I do.” The heaviest dose of regular guy pride going. And there’s no need to make a fuss about it. Carry on. And you thought the 50’s was about conformity. That’s only what THEY

want you to think. Nervy people in the 50’s started todays’ freedom movements…and they haven’t been surpassed. In fact, their integrity stands taller than ever, what with the sell-outs and alliances of convenience we see today. Based on James Jones novel.

Barfly

cover “There’s so many things I don’t want to do.” Mickey does Bukowski to a tee in this one. The best look at modern art and booze and the price we pay. I guess Faye Dunaway saying Yes to this project let it happen. An unprecedented flick the likes of which we won’t see again.

Cockfighter

pal Harry Dean in this great, rare lowbudget flick written, directed and

starring (cameo) by a tough guy writer, Charles Willeford. How many exceptions like this are there in movies today? Buffalo 66 comes close. Except Vince ain’t half the writer that Charles is. Some animals were injured in the making of this movie. And in the living of your life. It’s like a documentary look at cockfighting. Very artful though. Not many animals injured. Mucho mucho animal care and pride, though. Interesting that this flick shows more animal nurturing than nearly any animal flick I can think of. Funny how life and pain go together. Just ask Warren. He’s a top fighter who talked too much and got his best chicken killed. Now he doesn’t talk. He’s the lead and he doesn’t say a thing this whole movie. He’s great. So is the flick.

Dr. Syn—Alias the Scarecrow  One of the very best Disney productions. A splendid story of the American Revolutionary era. Patrick McGoohan just rocks. Great soundtrack, suspense and action. About a gang of bandits run by a brilliant, radical preacher who scare the devil out of their enemies. Fine guerilla warfare, indeed. Based on true story. Great flick to inspire us starting at about age 12.

you don’t want to be part of the system. Let’s see what happens to you…

DeNiro does some wonderful scene stealing. Insightful storyline that will

scare you to death. And then some. Terry Gilliam’s best work in every way.

Mrs. Brown  “https://outyourbackdoor.com/videoshop/630482615X.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg” BORDER=”0″ ALT=”cover” hspace=”3″ vspace=”3″ ALIGN=”BOTTOM” WIDTH=”76″ HEIGHT=”140″ NATURALSIZEFLAG=”3″> Billy Connolly totally steals and elevates this fine flick. He’s a hardheaded Scotch horse-keeper with a lot of nerve. He’s called up from the sticks to work for the Queen. He sees things amiss which others won’t comment on due to deference, as the Queen struggles with grieving. So he speaks up, sternly. “You’re our queen, we need you, get a grip, lady.” Thus an amazing true story relationship begins. Inspiring the whole way.
