“Track of the Wolf” is a great catalog/website of supplies for the heritage outdoorsperson. They sell everything you need to build your own blackpowder firearms of all kinds, as well as knive kits, apparel and tent supplies and such. They also sell completed items, such as a wide variety of hand-forged knives of the sort used in the early-period fur trade. They seem to run about $30 each. I like the hand-pounded look myself, so I thought I’d let you know. They also sell a wide range of outdoor lore books, many of which you can’t get on Amazon or in general bookstores, especially the kind of book called a ‘sketchbook. These books are used by reenactors but I like the Eric Sloan-esque artwork in general and they tend to be, well, very realistic with images and info about the old days. They also sell a huge, color print catalog for $5—what’s neat about it (and about their website) is that most items are pictured at full size, with high quality photos or detailed sketches.
