Last weekend Henry and his pal went out with me and took some pics and video of me doing canoe poling and stand-up canoeing on the Red Cedar river down the street.

The autumn foliage was spectacular. The kids did a decent job of media-work, too. Although their amateur touches are easy to see and their patience quickly ran thin. Heck, I didn’t even get any gung-ho poling on tape. Really, it’s just a little clip showing me doing a couple turn-arounds and fake-portage. Still, it’s the only footage out there of FLATWATER POLING. Poling is usually a whitewater New Englandy sort of thing. So check it out.

The pics turned out better than the video, in a posed “high school portrait” sort of way.

Oh, I also did some Standup Canoe Paddling and tooks pics and vids of that, uploaded here and at YouTube.

Here’s a link to the little vid I uploaded to YouTube:

Ah, autumn… I can’t stay away from the stand-up action once the leaves change color! I’m out there every day til they’re gone! In a week they’ll fill the air, which is cool, too. And the grey and skim ice and light snow of November is neat as well, seeing so much farther thru the underbrush…

There’s a little push! I want to get a full-speed pic sometime, giving a better dyno impression…
