Raspberry Trifle with Sabayon

Whoa, I’m trying to find the recipe(s) I’ve been using the past few years to make this jawdropping worldclass seasonal dessert and I can’t find them!

I thought I’d just used one recipe but I might’ve blended two.

You want to find a recipe for Raspberry Trifle with homemade ladyfingers. It’ll also have a homemade custard layered filling. But instead of that you’ll want to whip up some Sabayon.

That’s how I recall it all, anyway.

Sure, you can use jam and jello but, hey, it’s the fall berry harvest time of year. The Everbearing red raspberries are coming on strong RIGHT NOW. I’m picking a quart a day from my 100 plants. Big’n’bold ones. Prime! They smell so good as I pick them…

Of course, they’re splendid with just some half&half drizzled over them. Cream brings out the berry flavor somehow.

But why not go for it and hit a home-run. Make a fancy berry dessert. It really doesn’t take long. Half hour?

Now where did my recipes go? I’d think that maybe Epicurious or Cooks.com or … or …

Too bad I pretty much missed the peach season! That’s how you REALLY do it. But then fall raspberries probably do come after peaches so to each its own…
