Best Milk Ever!

One time the in-laws drove a new way to come visit. They discovered a fairly new dairy along the way, in Nashville (Michigan, along M-66, maybe 20 mi’s S. of I-96, I guess). A young family has built it up to a big operation offering everything in the way of milk on a retail basis. So now my in-laws buy that milk whenever they can, which is basically all the time.

I’ve had some of this milk. It’s absolutely the best I’ve ever had. OK, from a store. It’s exactly like the milk I used to drink when I helped out a few weeks on a big dairy farm up in the U.P. as a teen. We’d drink it by the gallon every hot summer day, scooping it from metal cooling tanks with a big stainless pitcher. That milk was like heaven. So is this milk.

I’ve never since those days on the farm had milk that tastes so good and fresh. Tasting this milk brought all back in an instant.

This milk is worth going out of your way for. They also have everything else you can make with milk. (Which reminds me, I’d like to make my own butter sometime. It’s not hard.)

The dairy itself is also worth seeing. It’s inspiring seeing a young family expanding and making a go of something real, something that they’re really good at. Don’t you think?

(Nashville also has Bob’s Gun Shop—a really big nice gun and archery shop. This part of the state has many attractions, actually. It’s rolly, with twisty roads and lots of state land and waterways and nice oldtime towns that are well-preserved.)
