I can’t believe I haven’t put up reports on these bike shows yet. Crazy!

NAHBS and the Cirque are the biggest, sweetest things going in bikeland!

…Well, for pure bike beauty and bike lust, anyway.

And they aren’t “big” in terms of size—they’re big in style. Their size is convivial. And that’s the way they want it. Show up, meet your heroes, maybe even get to ride a bike or ten. Buy stuff at the swap meets. It’s not Vegas. It’s personable. All kinds of bikes and bike stuff are on display. Road, mtbike, touring, city, track…parts, luggage and apparel.

NAHBS is the National Handbuilt Bicycle Show. A bunch of custom bike makers show up and display their wares. Eye candy. Inspiration. Customers! …This show alternates venues around the USA. 2009: Indy!

Then there’s the Cirque du Ciclisme. This is the big confab for the vintage gang annually held in Leesburg, VA. (Well, it always used to be in NC.) Everyone brings their old bikes and shows them off and maybe even rides them. There are fixed up old bikes and “as is” old bikes and all kinds of oohing and ahhhing. And plenty of classic-style vendors. And a swap meet… www.cirqueducyclisme.com

Now…here are a few mixed up pics of and from both events…
