"The Competition Bicycle": photo book of racing bike development

February 02, 2009

Jan Heine recently released his new labor of love, "The Competition Bicycle," the only coffee table book dedicated to the racing bike. In it, Jan and his photographer take us on a tour of the most relevant stages in racing bike history and development. They show us the actual bikes used along the way. The actual bikes ridden by the heroes of racing are shown in the "flesh" along with vintage photos of them in action. The key features of each bike that represent the relevant stages of development are highlighted and explained concisely. Merckx, Coppi, Moser, Indurain...their bikes are here. And many more, including those representing a huge diversity of the racing world. Learn and enjoy!
