Wild Men from the South!
On 9/30 &10/1/00 we did “Wild Men from the South!”…3 Big Events, 1 Big Weekend!…Suzy Crowbar (of Popular Reality) and I brought Jack Saunders and John M. Bennett to Lansing for a literary extravaganza. Sat was a picnic at our house followed by Readings and Blaster movies at Hobie’s. Sun book signings at booth at a huge Book Show. Sun nite Readings at The Creole Gallery. We just did it ourselves. Posters all over town. What fun! Like an Extreme Games literary event. We were exhausted. We had no idea what we were doing. For some reason, a lot of transvestites kept showing up. It was during Banned Books week, so we played up the banned books aspect (all Jack’s books are suppressed). But no media covered our Press Releases: a total ban! Cool! It really works!
