Classism?

How are social classes set up?

What’s the definition of the Lower, Middle, Upper Middle and Upper?

Here’s my try:

Lower—doesn’t own home

Middle—owns home free and clear

Upper Middle—doesn’t have to work

Upper—responsible for populations under them

So today it looks like the double income families with the meadow mansions and condos and with credit stretched and with a wide variety of non-paid-off property and capital and the need to work long hours to keep ahead of the shoeshine, makes these seemingly rich people into Low Class. ???

Now, I see that moderns have learned to make debt work for them, but you could have lots of debt plus lots of income and still be able to pay off the home if you chose, or if you lost your job, you’d be fine for awhile. But it seems like a big jump to ‘work as a choice’ from those we call rich today.
