The Cool of Uncool
Did James Dean imitate anyone? Play off something he saw somewhere?
Is cool ever imitation?
Is any aspect of porn, violence, murder, ‘body art’, obscenity, profanity
cool? Any aspect of *interest* in the above?
Did curiosity kill the cat? Is eclecticism dilution, a waste of time?
Porn…all the rage. ‘Boogy Nights’ did it wrong, archly say the
critics.
Damaging cynicism. Porn…a perfect example?
“Our sexual preferences”…there’s a zombie phrase if there ever was one.
If you’re self-conscious of it, it’s dead. It’s an it, not life. An affect.
