Anti-hunter retort I hadn’t heard, about what comprises hunting

I’ve heard the pro’s and con’s of hunting for decades. But I just thought up an angle that might be a little something new. You know how you always hear from hunters that “hunting isn’t just about the kill”? It’s usually related to motivations. But it just occured to me today how literally true it is. —How much more several other aspects of hunting ought to be valuated and appreciated by us all.

100% Hunting:

*40%*—Scouting, equipment prep and practice, timing, and background knowledge of a hunting area and game species. This takes years to acquire and is often culturally and family related.

*35%*—Recipes, cooking, growing ancillary produce…then eating game meat.

*10%*—Hunt, stalk, track, ambush.

*10%*—Cleaning, transport, meat processing.

*5%*—Habitat maintenance and development (land set aside, kept vacant).

*1%*—Shoot, track, kill.

Now you might say that not all hunters do all the above in this way. Well, mostly, when they don’t they’re simply paying for someone else to do it. This is the case with most meat-eating.
