Our First Cha-Cha Party Was A Hit!
Ross mixed a batch of lounge music tapes. Margaret and Martha sent out the fancy invites. (I just worked.) Friends old and new, especially those who didn’t know each other, arrived en masse at the appointed hour…all wearing their fanciest outfits. It was a cocktails-only party. Fancy glasses, swizzles, the works. Tiny bubbles everywhere. Everyone had a fabulous time. I never knew how much more fun mixing and drinking drinks could be while wearing a red velvet smoking jacket. …And cha-cha fever capped it all off. Who could stop dancing? It’s the perfect stirring/shaking beat. Easy to dance to while fingering the stem of a martini glass. …A frenzy for Ross in his horn-rims, cravat, kimono and amaretto-puffing pipe. –JP
